Towers Perrin and the BBC - The future of risk -- and the future of broadcast!

Today, I'm off to West Palm Beach, where I'll provide a keynote for the Towers Perrin reinsurance division, with the theme being "the future of risk." I'll take a look at some of the new and potential emerging risks, hazards and challenges that we will be faced with throughout society in the years to come -- and thoughts on how to develop an innovative culture to watch for and respond to these challenges far in advance of their occurrrence.

Then I'm off to London, England, for a talk the next day to address the BBC Technology leadership forum; I'll provide insight into issues of convergence, digital broadcast, the future of media, amid a discussion of issues of innovation and issues of change.

Both these presentations are highly customized, and draw upon three key topic areas: What comes next? (and what should we do about it?), and Thriving on Change: How to Create an Innovation Culture, Take a look at the topic list here.

What's your tin can?

How many organizations are still stuck in a 110-year old rut? The article still grabs attention far and wide, and it makes a great point. (PDF)

"....an outstanding presentation..."

I've had a very busy few weeks -- keynote presentations for SAP in New York City, the International Asset Management Council in Tuscon, the Health Care Industry Distributors Association in Jacksonville, Urban Systems in Sun Peaks, SAP in Calgary -- and a few more things! These organizations have sought my insight on trends, the future, innovation and change, either for their management meetings, client events or for corporate strategy sessions.

Are the presentations effective? Read this recent letter from a credit union client, after I provided a full day workshop that looked at future trends, and how financial services might be impacted by a wide variety of issues (PDF)

Hack the vote!

I've got a new CAMagazine column that talks about the challenges and issues with electronic voting -- particularly relevant given the trends occurring worldwide as countries come to examine the potential technology. I noted that "as other aspects of our society become automated, we must ensure the integrity of our technology-bound world ...." If we're going to do it, we need to make sure it is done right.
