This page advises you of the privacy policy that applies to this site. If advises you the information that is gathered or tracked when you visit this site, how the information is used, and who the information is shared with.

Transaction Security

If you purchase a book through my online store, I am provided with your name, address, and e-mail address. I am not provided with your credit card information. All credit card transactions are processed through the online credit card company, Stripe. I do not use your name, e-mail address or address or other information for any purpose whatsoever, other than shipping your order.

Web visitor tracking

I utilize two services which track details on visitors to JimCarroll.com — Hitsniffer.coom and OpenTracker.Net. Both of these services provide me details on each visit to my Web site, and include details on the Web browser, computer platform, IP address, search phrase, and other pertinent details. I utilize these services to get an understanding of how people are finding my site, the most popular pages, and other information that is helpful in maintaining and upgrading the site. These services do not provide me with any personally identifiable information, although in some cases, I can see the name of a corporate organization that has visited my site.

Electronic Mail Archives

Any e-mail message that you might send me could be archived on my computer for years. I have saved approximately 70% of all the e-mail messages that I have sent and received since 1984. (Yes, 1984!)

AddThis Social Sharing

I utilize the AddThis social sharing site to encourage people to share particular Web pages or blog posts through Facebook, Twitter and other social sharing services. This gives me general information as to the particular pages that people are sharing, and the methods they are using to do so. I have no access to personal information via AddThis.
